Pammal Venuganam K. hariharan has the lineage 0f musicians- his father advocate (late) H.Krishna Iyer was a flauist in 1960"s and grand father was a Bhagavathar. from early age I was in the midst of music, bothe listening and learning.

settling in Chemmai (from TVM) in 1964 I had the privilege of learning from many vidwans(apart from official duties). Basically I am a mridangist and changed over to vocal.

After retirement i took full time on Music and became a Vaggeyakara of all 72 Melams in Tamil under Mudra "Sivadasan "(I sing all the 72 Melams.)I got acknowlodgement and appreciation from Sangita Kalcharyas of Music academy-like S. Rajam. Dr. S.R.Janakiraman,Dr. VV Srivatsa and respected teacher Dr. Omana Kutty.
I have already conducted Lec Dem of Mela rare rags in"
1. Sangeetha Bharathi in 2005
2.Swati tirunal Music college Tvm
3. Sri Nilakanta Sivan Sangeetha Sabha, Karamana. and a few pther Sabhas.

The main puropose of conducting Lec Dem is in colleges is to make the students understand the intricacies of 72 Melams.

Note :
Ihave rendered 22 rare Melams in "you tube" -under head"72 mela kartha rare ragas"
which I am sure , would benifit music students and musicians.
